As you are all aware that we will stop tracking the H-4 EAD Court Case and other cases soon, I wanted to provide some guidance on how to register on PACER and track the case. Please note there is no registration fee, but the system will ask for your credit card. Looking at daily status does not entail a fee, but downloading a document entails a small fee. If your total downloaded documents do not exceed $ 15 in a quarter, then the fee is waived. We track more than 30-40 cases at any given time and we rarely get a fee of anything above $ 20-40 per quarter. I am certain that for those viewing a single case, there will not fee at all at the end of the quarter.
One can also register on PACER without a credit card but cannot download any documents. In addition, PACER takes anywhere from 7-10 business days to mail you a verification code which needs to be used as an activation code as “View Only” mode. Providing a credit card is much easier and quicker.
If you want instant alerts whenever a document is added to the case file, then you can register on Law360.com which charges around $ 19 – 49 per month basis what subscription level you sign up for. We use both accounts on Law360.com and PACER as it helps double check if we have missed any documents.

For H-4 EAD, when you click on this link after logging in, it will show you a screen as below. If you are unable to use the link, try clearing your cache or open your browser in incognito mode. Do note that PACER does not work very well with Internet Explorer, so use Chrome or Firefox. If you experience trouble with finding the case page, try to use the search function in PACER with one or more of the below keywords.
When you are able to log in, the most recent court updates are at the bottom of the list. Immediately to the right of the date, there is a document icon. When you click on the icon, you can download the particular document.
